Today is the one-year anniversary that the word “selfie” was chosen as the international Word of the Year.
And the winner of the Lumia 535 and it’s…. Mohamad Reza. Congratulations! We very much liked the selfie in a selfie idea.
The editors of the Oxford Dictionaries, which bestowed the honor, noted that usage of the word increased by more than 17,000 percent between 2012 and 2013.
That’s a heck of a lot of selfies!
“Selfie” has already spawned spin-off words, including “welfie” (a workout selfie), “helfie” (a selfie of one’s hairdo), and, perhaps in homage to the original user, “drelfie” (drunke selfie).
Over the past year, Microsoft has helped you put your best face forward with the launch of the Lumia selfie app and the ultimate selfie and Skype phones: the Lumia 535,Lumia 730 and Lumia 735.
The wide-angle, five-megapixel front-facing camera on these smartphones help you share more of life uncropped. That means that you can fit more people, scenery and detail in your photos.
So whether you share them on Instagram, Facebook, or other social-media platform, your self-portraits will be sure to shine.
Take a selfie and win a Lumia 535
